Firefighters saved a camper van and a boat on two driveways from being destroyed in a fire.

Crews were called to Chaffinch Drive, Kingsnorth, Ashford, at 4.30am today when a Ford on a driveway was ablaze.

The car was wrecked but the firefighters prevented the blaze for spreading to the camper on that same driveway and to the boat on the neighbour’s one.

One fire engine from Ashford was called out to deal with the blaze.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Police are treating the incident as suspicious and enquiries are ongoing."
