Police called to reports of concern for an elderly man have found a body.

Emergency services descended on a country lane in Hothfield near Ashford yesterday.

Tragically, the body of the pensioner was found near the scene in Waterfall Road.

There are unconfirmed reports that the man, in his 80s, was found in a nearby field.

His death is not being treated as suspicious, and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
