Body found in search for missing Michael Lake from Ashford

Police searching for a missing Ashford man have found a body.

Officers say they are no longer appealing for information concerning 54-year-old Michael Lake who was reported missing from Ashford on Friday.

As part of the search for Mr Lake on Saturday, a man's body has been found in the Romney Marsh area.

A police spokesman said that while formal identification not yet taken place, Mr Lake’s next of kin have been informed.

There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

Mr Lake was reported missing from the Ash Hill area in Ashford at 2.15pm on Friday.
