A body found on railway tracks near Godinton Park almost three weeks ago has been identified as a Polish farm worker.

Andrzej Tomasz Burski, 31, was still officially living in his home country but was in Ashford to work on a farm in Great Chart.

A train driver was forced to make an emergency stop when Mr Burski’s body was spotted lying across the track at 8.20am on Sunday, June 8.

British Transport Police launched an investigation into the death, which they were treating as unexplained, and the driver and five passengers were offered “care and support” by train company Southeastern.

An inquest into the married man’s death has been opened and adjourned.
