Boys throw brick at man in Victoria Park in Ashford

A man suffered a head injury after a gang of boys threw a brick at him in an attempted robbery.

The victim, who was in his 30s, was walking through Victoria Park in Ashford when he was approached by the three-strong group aged between 10 and 15 years old.

They attempted to grab his bag and a brick was thrown after he refused to hand over any money.

The attack happened in Victoria Park

The victim suffered a cut to his head and he required hospital treatment.

The three boys reportedly ran off in the direction of the Brookfield estate.

They were described as aged between 10 and 15 years old, slim and around 5ft 5ins tall and all wore dark clothing.

It happened between 5.45am and 6.06am Sunday, February 17.

Detective Constable Natasha Russell said: "We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and might have seen something which could help our investigation.

"We understand there was a couple who came forward to help and see if the victim was OK, and we would like to speak to them as well."
