Thirty show canaries were stolen from a shed at a house in Bean Close, Great Chart.

The show birds, which are multi-coloured Yorkshire Canaries, were taken sometime between 10.30pm on Sunday night and 8.40am on Monday morning.

The owner is concerned for the welfare of the birds and of some baby canaries that have been left behind without their mother.

The shed which was broken into is at the back of a house in Bean Close, Great Chart.

Anyone with information about the break-in is asked to contact Sgt Simon Drew on 01233 611055 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
