Car fire in Stanhope, Ashford, being investigated by police as arson

A car fire in Stanhope last night is now being treated as an arson attack.

Firefighters were called to Leaveland Close at around 2am after reports a Peugeot was alight.

The car was completely destroyed in the blaze and police are now investigating the incident.

Witnesses reportedly saw the car being deliberately set on fire.

The flames were contained to the Peugeot and fire crews stopped the fire spreading to other vehicles and houses nearby.
