Firemen prevented a car fire spreading to a nearby diesel tank at a hospital.
The Mercedes caught fire in the car park of Ashford’s William Harvey Hospital on Friday evening.
Firefighters got there in time to contain the blaze and cool the tank, used as a generator, which was 6ft away.
The tank was unaffected but the car was destroyed. The blaze happened at about 6.30pm and was thought to have been caused by an electrical fault in the car.
