A car hit and damaged a traffic light in Ashford town centre at the start of the New Year.

The incident occurred on the Beaver Road and Victoria Way junction near Ashford International train station in the early hours of this morning, on New Year's Day.

Police attended the scene and have been contacted for comment about the incident.

Highways and Ashford Borough Council have been contacted about the traffic light.
