Mecca Bingo club in Ashford High Street had quantity of cash stolen in early morning break-in

The police are investigating a break-in at a bingo hall after a quantity of cash was stolen.

Officers were called at 5.36am on Saturday to reports of an incident at the Mecca Bingo club in Ashford's High Street.

The suspects are said to have entered the premises during the early hours of Saturday.

The Mecca Bingo Ashford page had to shut that morning due to "unforeseen circumstances" but re-opened on Saturday night.

A police spokesman confirmed that inquiries are ongoing.
