THIEVES have targeted a youth and community centre in Stanhope Square at Ashford twice in less than a month.

The first incident took place either on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.

An estimated £700 worth of damage was caused to a plate glass door and the roller shutter over door, and DJ mixing equipment worth £250 and a Fender amplifier unit worth £150 were stolen.

Between January 2 and January 7 a Techwood 32in widescreen colour TV worth £300, a ‘Pink’ Sony play station games console worth £100, a Microsoft Xbox and steering wheels and games worth £200, two dance mats worth £50 and an amplifier worth £50 were taken.

It is believed that due to the size of some of the items stolen at least two people were involved.

Police would like to speak to anyone who has information regarding these incidents to contact Ashford Police Station on 01233 896181.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers Hotline on 0800 555111. Calls to Crimestoppers are free, you do not have to give your name and you may be eligible for a reward.
