Crash leaves biker dead and pillion passenger 'critical'

KENT Police are investigating a crash which claimed the life of a motorcyclist and left his female pillion passenger with serious injuries.

The collision happened on the A28 at Godmersham, near Ashford, on Sunday at about 8.15pm.

The rider, a 47 year-old man from the Maidstone area, was pronounced dead at the scene. He has not yet been named.

The female pillion passenger was taken to Ashford's William Harvey hospital where her condition is said to be "critical but stable". The road was closed until about 1.20am on Monday
