Investigation launched following robbery at Betfred, in New Rents, Ashford

Police have released a description of a man they are hunting following a robbery at a betting shop.

A customer allegedly threatened staff before making off with cash during the raid at Betfred in Ashford yesterday.

Police were called to the New Rents shop just before midday following reports of a disturbance.

Officers say no one was hurt during the ordeal, in which a customer is said to have made threats to staff and stole an unknown amount of money before leaving the shop.

No weapons were used in the robbery.

An investigation was launched yesterday and police have now released a description of the suspect, who is of Asian appearance, aged in his mid 20s, of medium build with cropped dark brown hair.

He was wearing dark clothing, jeans and white trainers and carrying a bag on his back.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
