Police have launched an appeal for witnesses as a motorcyclist fights for his life following a crash.

The rider was flown to a London hospital with serious injuries after his blue Honda motorcycle and a red Ford Focus Zetec car collided.

The crash happened on the A28 Ashford Road in Chilham at around 3.35pm yesterday, prompting police to shut the road for around four hours.

Officers now want to speak to anyone who saw the crash or either vehicle beforehand, who has not already spoken to police.

They particularly want to hear from the driver of a car which was reportedly attempting to turn right into a track in front of the two vehicles just before the collision.

Witnesses can call the serious collision investigation unit on 01622 798538, quoting KH/COJ/094/17, or email officers on sciu.td@kent.pnn.police.uk.
