Ashford: Distressed woman on Canterbury Road bridge prompts police rolling road block on M20

A distressed woman seen standing on a bridge over the M20 was helped by police.

The woman was spotted on the Canterbury Road crossing over the motorway in Kennington, Ashford.

A rolling road block was put in place after two police car were called to the scene just after 10am.

The bridge where the distressed woman was met by officers. (7151195)

A police spokesman said: "Officers attended and the woman was passed to the care of health professionals.

"A rolling road block was in place for a short time but the road is now clear."

Last month, a man fell from the same bridge after being seen sat on the wrong side of the railings.

The 62-year-old died at the scene.
