A DELIVERY driver was threatened with a hammer when his van was targeted by two robbers.

The victim was driving his green and yellow City Link transit van along Carlton Road, Ashford, between 8.05am and 8.15am on Friday when he was forced to stop by one of the offenders.

He was then dragged from the cab and threatened with a hammer, before the second man got into the vehicle and the two offenders drove off.

The stolen van was recovered by police in Kenardington within half an hour. It will now be examined for forensic evidence.
