Ashford Town Football Club manager Steve Lovell

Ashford Town celebrated their first three points in the league since mid-October on Saturday.

Steve Lovell's side recorded a 1-0 win at Dulwich Hamlet to end a run of 14 games without a run in the Ryman League Division 1 South.

Dulwich were forced to play much of the match without a recognised keeper after their regular goalie Phil Wilson was sent-off early on and with no understudy on the bench outfield players Kalvin Morath-Gibbs went between the sticks.

Wilson was red-carded after handling outside the area with just 12 minutes of the game gone.

Ashford scored what turned out to be the winner just before the break when Tom Murphy’s shot was deflected into the path of Paul Jones and he headed into an empty net.

The win leaves Ashford three points behind second from bottom Whitstable.

Folkestone’s home match with Whyteleafe was postponed due to snow covering the pitch surrounding areas of the Buzzlines Stadium.
