Police were called to a loose horse causing mayhem on an Ashford road this afternoon.

Officers raced to the A2070 Ashford to New Romney road just after 12.30pm to catch the escaped animal.

A force spokesman said patrols carried out a rolling road block while the horse was removed and returned to a nearby field.

Drivers experienced delays but the area is believed to be clear now.
