Face of supermarket robbery suspect

The man police wish to question

DETECTIVES have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a robbery at a Kent supermarket.

It is believed the man waited for the cash register in the café at Sainsbury’s at Ashford to be opened before he approached a female cashier and demanded money.

He then ran from the supermarket and across the car park into Simone Weil Avenue.

He is described as white, in his 20s with collar-length dark hair and thin. He was unshaven and was wearing a dark jacket, white shirt and dark trousers. He was also wearing sunglasses.

The incident happened on Tuesday, September 5. Det Insp Gavin Moss, of Ashford Police, said: “Investigations are continuing and we would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the young man acting suspiciously before he went into the supermarket, or as he left following the robbery.”
