POLICE investigating an armed robbery outside a Kent supermarket have released computer generated images of two of the three suspects.

Several thousand pounds in cash was stolen from a Securitas van at the Asda store in Kimberley Way, Ashford, on April 19 after two men, each armed with handguns and wearing fluorescent jackets, confronted and threatened staff as they refilled a cash machine.

The first e-fit shows one of these men. He is described as being of large build, with a portly stature, around 5ft 8in, and wearing a yellow fluorescent jacket. He was carrying a silver coloured handgun or pistol.

The second e-fit shows a man who was waiting for the other two in a red Bedford Rascal van nearby, and whose face is visible in previously released CCTV pictures.

He is believed to have an olive skin complexion and is described as slim, of medium build, and wearing a lightweight fawn jacket. He was carrying a sawn off shotgun.

The third man is described as 5ft 8in, of medium build, and wearing a yellow fluorescent jacket with a dark coloured jumper underneath and carrying a dark coloured handgun. CCTV footage was released of this man last week.

As the men escaped, a member of the public challenged one of the robbers who shot him in the leg. The bullet was deflected by a set of keys in the victim’s pocket.

Anyone with information is asked to call the incident room hotline on 01233 896180. Alternatively people can call Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. You do not have to give your name and you may be eligible for a cash reward.
