David Ivin died after a Christmas party at The Leas, Folkestone

Relatives of a man who died after collapsing outside the Saga Christmas party in Folkestone have paid tribute to a "much-loved" family member.

David Ivin, an employee of the over-50s travel firm, had been turned away from the Leas Cliff Hall on Thursday evening.

The 36-year-old (pictured left) was taken to the William Harvey Hospital, Ashford, but was pronounced dead.

It was reported he had been restrained and ejected by door staff after trying to re-join the party when he went outside for a cigarette.

Kent Police said officers were called to reports of an assault at just before 9.50pm.

Three men were arrested over the incident, but released without charge on Saturday.

Mr Ivin's family described him as "larger-than-life".

They said: "Well known employee of Saga, much loved and very much missed by all his family.

"The family request privacy to grieve."
