Fatal stabbing: Two questioned

A 27-year-old man was today still being questioned by detectives three days after being arrested in connection with a murder inquiry.

Police arrested the man at 4am on Sunday. Earlier Michael Wood, 48, of Lynsted Close, Stanhope, Ashford, was found stabbed to death in a yard five miles away in Challock.

Police are also questioning a 47-year-old woman in connection with the killing.

Mr Wood was a security guard employed to watch over equipment in the yard at Fairview, Faversham Road close to Challock crossroads.

At the opening of an inquest into Mr Wood's death in Dover today, the coroner Rachel Redman was told he died from a single stab wound.
