A father and daughter were rescued after being stuck in a lift for more than two hours.

The couple became trapped after an electrical fault in the elevator between the ground and the first floors of house in Sir Bernard Paget Avenue, Repton Park at 10.45am yesterday (Saturday, November 27).

A fire engine from Ashford fire station arrived on the scene but firefighters were unable to help and an engineer had to be called. The pair were released from the lift at 1pm.
