Ashford fire crews spent nearly an hour this afternoon tackling a fire in the basement of a hotel.

Two engines and a water unit were sent to Eastwell Manor Hotel and Spa, in Faversham Road, in Boughton Aluph, at 2.45pm.

It is understood the blaze broke out in the basement laundry room in a three-storey building.
