A teenager needed rescuing after getting stuck in a child's swing at a play park in Ashford.

The 17-year-old girl was in the playground at the junction with Singleton Hill and Tithe Barn Lane with friends when she realized she could not get out of the swing.

Fire crews were called to the little green at 11pm, when temperatures were around three degrees.

They had to dismantle the swing in order to release the teen, who had been stuck for an hour.

Crews then put the equipment back together.

The girl was not believed to be hurt.

Watch manager Jim Smart said crews have received similar calls to this one in recent months.

He said: "We've had a few calls like this recently. It's quite common."
