Fire crews tackled large, unattended bonfire in Singleton Hill, Ashford last night after they were alerted to the scene by police

Firefighters were called to Singleton Hill last night to tackle a large, unattended bonfire.

Crews spent 40 minutes putting out the flames in Singleton around 10.30pm.

They had been asked to attend by police.

A fire spokesman said no one was around when crews arrived.
