Garage fire in Faversham Road, Kennington, near Ashford

One person had to be treated by paramedics after a garage fire.

Firefighters sprayed foam onto nearby buildings to protect them from the flames, and managed to prevent the blaze spreading after it broke out in Faversham Road in Kennington, near Ashford.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a garage well alight. Three fire engines were sent.

One person who experienced the effects of breathing in smoke was given oxygen therapy by crews, before being handed into the care of SECAmb paramedics.

The incident happened yesterday at 5.50pm and crews left at an hour later.
