An e-fit has been released after a 12-year-old girl was approached by a man in Victoria Park, Jemmett Road, Ashford

A 12-year-old girl was approached by a man as she took part in a 5k race in Ashford's Victoria Park in Jemmett Road.

The youngster became separated from her dad during the weekly Ashford parkrun and noticed a man beckoning her over to him.

The girl ignored him and continued running to the finish line.

The approach was reported to police who have produced this e-fit image of a man they wish to speak to.

The race was taking place between 9am and 10am on Saturday, September 13 and the man is described as white, aged between 50 and 60, of thin build with short grey hair.

He wore black tracksuit bottoms and a dark coloured top and had a wonky "slanted" left eye, the girl told officers.
