Firefighters are tackling a huge grass blaze on Romney Marsh, with up to eight fire engines involved.

A huge plume of smoke, coming from Tourney Road in Lydd, can be seen across the Marsh.

At least six engines from Ashford, New Romney, Folkestone and Hythe are at the blaze, which was reported at 3pm. Two more appliances are believed to be en-route, as well as an all terrain vehicle.

Firefighters are also tackling a blaze in 37 acres of standing corn at Hunt Street, Crundale, between Canterbury and Ashford.
