Raiders force open safe at Holiday Inn Express in Folkestone

Police are hunting three robbers who forced open a hotel safe in a raid early today.

It happened at the Holiday Inn Express at Cheriton High Street, Folkestone, at around 1am.

The three men jumped over the counter in reception and forced open the safe, which contained a small amount of cash.

A member of staff was on duty, but nobody was hurt.

Kent Police are in particular appealing for information about a white 4x4 vehicle, possibly a Range Rover, which was parked in the hotel car park at the time of the raid.

Officer say they want to trace its driver, who might be an important witness.
