Ashford Town have dispensed with the services of assistant manager Hugo Langton as the club restructure their management team for next season.

Langton (pictured) has been No.2 to Steve Lovell at Homelands for the past two years but chairman Don Crosbie said: "We have decided on a shake-up among the management team because we felt we needed a change but I would like to thank Hugo for the effort he put in during his time at Ashford Town. He has helped Steve out during a tough season and his support has never wavered."

Langton said: "I’m sad to be leaving but the club feel with Mark Patterson now in charge of the Academy, they have a ready-made assistant for Steve if he needs any support.

"And I would like to put on record how much I have enjoyed working with Steve. I could have attended all the coaching courses in the world but I wouldn’t have learned as much as I have from working alongside him, how he has dealt with all the problems that the club has faced this season.

"We knew right from the start that it was going to be tough because we had such an inexperienced squad but we managed to stay up."

As to his own future, Langton added: "I have had a few phone calls already and because I’m a football man, I want to get fixed up with another club, either as a manager or a coach, as soon as possible."

Lovell said: "Hugo was always out watching future opponents and was always a dedicated No.2. He has a bright future in the game as he is a talented coach and I’m sure we will see him pop up at another club soon."
