Hythe Town boss Scott Porter hopes his side will fair better against Dulwich Hamlet this weekend

Scott Porter has warned his Hythe players they must learn from the weekend’s drubbing at Worthing if they are to get anything from Saturday’s clash with high-flying Dulwich Hamlet.

A 5-0 reverse in West Sussex brought an abrupt end to Hythe’s three-game winning streak.

Town boss Porter (pictured) made no excuses for the defeat and knows his side can’t afford a repeat display against a Dulwich side only kept off the top of Ryman League, Division 1 South by goal difference.

Porter said: "We had eight or nine people who didn’t turn up and you can’t carry that many players.

"It happens too many times for us and when you play the top teams, you need everyone to be at their best. In the early part of the season, we were Jekyll & Hyde and I thought we’d got over that, after the last four games.

"Dulwich is going to be tough and we need to learn from the Worthing game. We’ve got to be at our best to get anything from these games."

Hythe still have injury doubts over Nick Barnes (calf) and John Walker (ribs) ahead of Saturday’s game.
