Hythe Town boss Scott Porter looking for revenge against Folkestone Invicta

Hythe Town manager Scott Porter

Scott Porter says there will be no better time to improve Hythe’s inconsistent home form than in the Ryman League Division 1 South derby against Folkestone on Boxing Day (3pm).

A 1-1 draw against Kent rivals Sittingbourne on Saturday continued their poor form over the last month at Reachfields, with Porter still humbled by the 8-0 defeat against Invicta last Christmas.

Porter (pictured) said: "It was the worst day of my managerial career so far and a massive setback.

"I was embarrassed and it was a day I will never forget for all the wrong reasons.

"I am still struggling to understand why we haven’t been doing it at home recently.

"We have addressed everything and want to start to put it right against Folkestone. It’s our biggest game of the season so far and revenge will be on our minds."

Nick Barnes completes his suspension and will be available to face Folkestone on Boxing Day.
