Is it you? Rumours are spreading round Folkestone that a Euromillions jackpot winner is from the town.

One ticket holder scooped more than £39m in Friday's draw.

Within days emails were circulating that the winner is from Folkestone.

A Camelot spokesman confirmed the prize of £39,754,555 had been paid to the winner.

"The ticket holder has opted for anonyminity so we cannot get any more information," she said.

"They have come forward to claim their prize and it has been paid out. No further details will be released."

She confirmed that it was one ticket holder from the UK who had won. It is not known if the ticket was bought online or from a shop.

The winning numbers were 8, 16, 18, 37, 43 plus 2 and 6 as the lucky stars.

It is the third highest win for a UK ticket in the Euromillions draw.

In February Nigel Page and Justine Laycock became Britain's biggest ever lottery jackpot winners when they scooped £56m, also on Euromillions.
