Jogger hit by car along Beaver Road, Ashford

A busy road had to be closed this lunchtime after a male jogger was hit by a car.

The incident happened at 12.10pm near the Travis Perkins site along Beaver Road in Ashford.

Emergency services, including police and ambulance, attended the incident before the pedestrian was taken to the William Harvey Hospital with head injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service said: "Ambulance crews, three cars and one ambulance, were sent to the incident after reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle.

"A head injury was reported, however they were concious and the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

"They were treated at the scene before being taken to the William Harvey Hospital."
