Man arrested after reported burglary at Riverside Inn, in Ashford

A 22-year-old man has been arrested after a South Ashford pub was reportedly burgled.

The Ashford man was arrested at 6am on Saturday after reports of a burglary at the Riverside Inn, in Torrington Road.

He has been released on bail until Friday, January 20 while enquiries continue.

Police have launched Operation Castle - a campaign to help prevent burglaries and target those responsible.

A spokesman for the force said: "The campaign aims to tackle the expected increase in the number of burglaries committed at this time of year."

Operation Castle runs until Friday, January 13 and more information can e be found on the Kent Police website.
