A man has been arrested after a 25-year-old was assaulted with a metal bar.

It happened near the junction of Beaver Road and Bond Road, Ashford, just after 6pm on Saturday.

It's thought the victim was walking home from work when he was hit across the lower back.

He was then taken to the William Harvey hospital where he is said to be in a stable condition.

An 18-year-old man from Ashford is now in custody after being arrested yesterday.
