Man hurt in crash as car loses control near Ashford station

A man was taken to hospital this morning after the car he was driving smashed into a barrier near the Ashford International Station.

Police attended the scene just after 9am following a report that a car had collided with a barrier in Romney Marsh Road.

A police spokesman said: "It's thought the man driving the car may have had a medical episode whilst driving. He has been taken to the William Harvey Hospital."

No other cars were involved.

Romney Marsh Road was closed while ambulance and police attended the scene and traffic was diverted through Newtown.

The road has now been cleared and re-opened.
