A 22-year-old man was ordered to carry out unpaid work for a year after an altercation outside the Liquid & Life nightclub in Ashford last year.

Andrew Rawlinson, of Spindlewood End, Ashford, was given a 12-month community order for beating Philip Lambkin who was trying to speak to his daughter outside the club on November 5 last year.

Magistrates at Ashford heard that the pair had a history of animosity and that Rawlinson suffered from depressive episodes.

Rawlinson was ordered to carry out 150 hours unpaid work and to pay £300 costs.
