Police are investigating reports a man tried to abduct two girls in Ashford

Police are searching for CCTV after reports a man tried to abduct two girls in Ashford.

The children, aged 10 and 15, are said to have been approached in Beaver Lane while they were out walking a dog.

Officers confirmed they were called just after 2pm.

A police spokesman said: "Officers attended to speak to the girls, and carried out an area search.

"Initial enquiries suggest that the man approached the girls and asked for directions, then made his way back to a vehicle.

"No physical contact was reported and the girls were able to leave the area.

"Officers are reviewing CCTV opportunities and continuing their enquiries to determine the circumstances of the encounter."
