Folkestone Invicta boss Neil Cugley says team spirit and an excellent disciplinary record leaves his side well placed going into the second half of the Ryman League Division 1 South season.

Three successive postponements, since the abandoned game at Chatham last month, have left leaders Invicta kicking their heels as they prepare to face strugglers Chipstead at Cheriton Road on Saturday.

It’s the first of three home games in a week for Invicta, as they prepare to renew old rivalries with Dover in the Kent Senior Cup next Tuesday, before Merstham visit the following weekend.

Cugley has enjoyed watching his youngsters plus 30-somethings Jackson and Smith develop over the past 12 months.

He said. "I remember saying about this time last year that if we kept them all together it will be good for them and the club. It’s been brilliant to see and we have got a good team spirit among our small squad."

Invicta also have no injuries or suspensions to hinder their progress as they face two games a week.
