A vehicle meant to keep a mobile eye on the town was left firmly fixed in place.

Police were using the mobile CCTV unit in Ashford town centre, when the vehicle's clutch went on Wednesday afternoon.

Officers managed to get it back to the station in Tufton Street.

It was later taken away for repairs, when one eagle-eyed snapper took this shot and posted it on social media.

A spokesman for the force said: "Even police vehicles break down sometimes."
