Police are investigating a man they believe to be responsible for a string of burglaries in villages.

Officers chased a 23-year-old suspect in the early hours of Sunday morning, and eventually caught him at Chart Road near Ashford after being helped by a police search helicopter.

The RPU team tweeted that they stopped the man, who they believe was responsible for "multiple" thefts.

Inside the vehicle they found items which they believe show the suspect was equipped to steal from other properties.

They have linked the man, from Edenbridge, to three burglaries in Egerton, Petham, and Woodchurch.

He has been released pending further investigation, and could face charges of going equipped to steal, burglary, and car registration plate theft.
