A man claiming to be Ashford's 'Roundabout Banksy' has finally spoken out about his work, as another piece is revealed.

The male artist, who wishes to remain anonymous, has claimed that the art work is his after placing another piece on the Tank roundabout on Saturday night

This one features a tree alongside a sign that says 'Government property. Mays Tree £' and differs from the rest as it is not animal-themed.

Up close, the leaves on the detailed sculpture are actually designed to look like money ranging from £5 notes up to £50.

On the back of the black sign is the signature 'Mr Mongo'.

The tree is the fourth piece of artwork to appear on one of Ashford's busiest roundabouts.

The first to appear was a swimmer being chased by sharks on the Eureka Park roundabout, then a hare being teased by a carrot on the Junction 9 roundabout.

The last piece, which appeared just last month, was a squirrel and Union Jack balloon on the Drover's roundabout.

A representative for the artist, who is local to Ashford, said: "He decided to put the art work around the town as a talking point.

"They are a bit tongue-in-cheek as they are about topical things such as Brexit but it was also to add some art work to Ashford.

"Eventually, it is hoped that each of the pieces will be auctioned off and the money will then be given to charity."

The squirrel piece has already been removed from its place on Drover's roundabout so it can be prepared for auction with the proceeds from the sale going to the Pilgrims Hospice.

There is also set to be at least one more piece appearing on one of the town's roundabouts within the next few months.
