Police officers had to call fire crews after getting stuck in a lift - inside their own station.
Two officers at the Ashford station in Tufton Street were left red faced after the lift ground to a halt between floors last night, leaving them with no way out.
The six-storey station was built in 1968 and is going to be renovated as part of a multimillion-pound plan.
Police bosses put up a safety scaffold around the building in 2015 after lumps of concrete fell from the structure.
Officers tweeted after the incident to thank their emergency service colleagues for the help.
