Police re-appeal for witnesses after reported rape at pub in The Forstal Mersham

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses after a woman reported being raped.

Officers say the woman was attacked near toilets set up for a festival at the Farriers Arms pub in The Forstal, Mersham near Ashford.

The incident happened on Saturday, July 27.

A 21-year-old man was arrested and released on bail until August.

DI Tristan Hardiman said: "We would like to thank those who have come forward with information already.

"We continue to ask for witnesses and in particular would like to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything unusual when in the area of the portable toilets.

"The toilets were set up for a festival at the site between the hours of 10.30pm on Saturday 27 July, to 12.30am the following day.

"I want to remind people that any information, however seemingly insignificant, could be vital."
