Police were called to the top of a town centre car park after a receiving a report about a distressed girl.

Officers were called to the Edinburgh Road multi-storey in Ashford at 1.40pm this afternoon.

Witnesses said they saw the girl on the roof.

A police spokesman said officers went to the scene and placed the girl in the care of health care professionals.
