Raid on store with pick-up truck fails

WOULD-BE thieves attempted a "ram raid"’ at a store in Brookfield Road, Ashford, during the early hours of Tuesday.

A member of the public flagged down a patrol and informed the police officers that the raid was taking place.

A Mitsubishi pick-up, which had been stolen earlier, sustained £1,000 worth of damage when it was used during the attempt. The front doors of the premises sustained damage estimated at £10,000.
