Kennington Road, in Willesborough near Ashford closed after pedestrian hit by car near William Harvey Hospital

A busy road has been closed following a serious collision between a car and a pedestrian close to the entrance of a hospital.

Police were called to the A2070 Kennington Road, in Willesborough near Ashford, at around 5.10pm.

A spokesman for the force said: “Officers are currently in attendance along with the South East Coast Ambulance Service and a road closure is in place.

“Motorists are advised to expect delays and find alternative routes if possible.”

There are reports of heavy traffic in the area from the M20 J10 (Ashford South) to the A28 Canterbury Road (Spearpoint Corner, Kennington).

The accident happened close to the roundabout for the William Harvey Hospital.

The road was still shut at 8.30pm while officers carried out investigation work.
