Seven vehicles have been involved in an accident on a major road.

Six ambulances and at least eight police vehicles were on the scene between Violet Way and Ashford Road.

The A2070 was closed for up to two hours while emergency services cleared the scene (16024721)

One person involved in the incident - which took place at 12.16pm - said: "I'm very shaken up, a car stopped dead in front of me for a passenger to be sick out the door then just drove off after causing carnage behind."

Parts of the worst affected vehicle was reportedly "a mess, most of the car was in bits across the road."

By 2.18pm the route had reopened, with traffic taking turns to pass the scene of the accident.
